Ban Chiang Archaeological Site

The UNESCO-listed site is definitely among the highlights of Udon Thani. It houses more than 4,000 ancient potteries, animal as well as human bones that date back as far as 5,000 years. A few steps inside the place, and you can feel yourself slipping back in time to the Bronze Age.

Wat Pa Phu Kon

Wat Pa Phu Kon is the temple of the temples, style wise. The 20-metre white reclining Buddha is basked in beautiful fluorescent patterns. The unique feature is a fun mixture of the turquoise roof and natural light. Perched up on a green hill overlooking a lush forest, Wat Pa Phu Kon is also known as a top-rated view point.

Nong Prajak Park

With its gigantic adorable ducks and clean park as its claim to fame, Nong Prajak Park draws in locals and travelers of all ages. Kids definitely have a quality outdoor time here, while grandparents enjoy their quiet evening stroll. You can also opt to visit Nong Prajak Park in the early morning and find some of the best local breakfast places in Udon Thani right around the area.

Than Ngarm Waterfall

Although small in size, Than Ngarm waterfall has a handful of natural basins where you can have a refreshing dip. Sitting in the heart of a rich jungle, Than Ngarm Waterfall also treats travelers with the sound of birds chirping and fresh forest air - perfect ingredients for your chillaxing afternoon.

Ho chi minh museum

A must-visit for history buffs, Ho Chi Minh museum is where the man himself lived before the Vietnamese Liberation. The few furnitures in his rustic room are still kept in their exact spots as more than 80 years ago. The great part is that well-written descriptions are also available in English.
